Website Draft

This is the draft for my website still needs alot of work to do, but it is my first draft.
I chose the blue as its a cold and lonely colour. i used this font as it is quite eye catching and draws your attention to it.

Website analysis

The reason I chose fall out boy and Biffly Clyro for my website analysis is due to the fact that the band sate on their twitter page that these are two of the bands that have influenced them in their image and music. Both of them have quite simple lay out with the album art work as the main back ground on the website. On the fall out boy website the website is quite bold with a plain colour system with simple block colours (black, white, red and blue) it is easy to navigate with its big text it seems to heavily rely on visuals more than text. You can tell this by them having their latest music videos down either side of the page. Having the music videos all linking together to make a short film. Currently they are only half way through this at the moment as the have done 6 out of 11 on their new album (Save Rock and Roll) I believe they did this to keep things interesting as they have only recently reformed after they split in 2009 this will keep old fans attention and my even bring them new ones in for them. the website shows you all their recent activity, photos, latest news, merchandise, information on their up and coming world tour in 2014 and behing the scenes on their music videos. The Biffy Clyro website has a simular layout to the fall out boy one with the album art work as the main background, but also that is a slide show that has a link to their merchandise and also to their set they did at Reading festival 2013. The main difference between the websites is that on the Biffy Clyro website the links to the other pages are not as sutle as they are close to the top and not in the middle of the page and shows that their audience maybe more mature but their target audiences are both the rebellious teen and the heart break and hope teens with the age range 14-22

They have stuck with quite traditional earthy colours, big bold fonts that will catch peoples eye. The website is very minimal but has the bands name and their latest album.

I am going to use ideas from both of these blogs with the artwork as the background and music videos at the side and the latest information at the bottom. But i am going to follow the fall out boy layout more that the Biffy Clyro
