evaluation Q1

1) How does the production use/challenge/develop forms and conventions?

I believe that my campaign does not challenge conventions of the my genre, but conforms to them and follows all of the 7 Goodwin theories. I believe that 9-Key frames was the most successful way or showing this. Using screen shots from my whole campaign and placing them together using Adobe Photoshop CC, and annotating them on blogger.
  1. The first image shows two of the conventions. the first one is voyeurism normally this has to do with the male gaze but as there are no females in my whole campaign it is voyeurism of the mind as when the band are playing in the performance section this is meant to be in the front mans mind and the band are his living subconscious. This is shown by having only the front man in the narrative and showing him grieving.  The second convention is hyper-reality, this is also covered by what I said about voyeurism as we are looking in to someones mind This cannot be done in reality, also the fact that you see overlays of the front man over him self, backs up the hyper-reality.
2. Image two shows music and visuals which is also a convention of a music video in my music video this is shown by the band playing there instruments in time with the song giving the illusion that they are actually playing it live.
3. Image three shows Lyrics and visual as the lyric "she sets like the sun" closes the song and this is the last shot in the music video. the image shows the front man walking off in to the sun, this is to show that he has finally let go of what hes been holding on to and want to start fresh and his life has a new ending.
4. Image four is also lyrics and visual as this plays when the lyric "like and anchor round my feet" plays this is more literal than in image 3 as it shows what the lyric says.
5. Image five show genre characteristics of the rock genre as this is the first time you get to see apart of the band and its the front man and the bassist with there electric guitar and bass.
6. image six covers the record labels demand with the close up of the front man. All though they are a band the front man will be the one that gets the most attention and is the only member of the band that gets close ups of both him playing his instrument and of his face. all though the others do get close ups of them playing there instruments.
7. Image 7 covers genre characteristics as this time you can see that they are an entire band playing together also the hash lighting and the distorted effects are somethings you would normally find in a rock music video.
8 & 9. Both cover intertexualitly showing where I took my inspiration from. The Band said that one of there main inspirations where Biffy clyro so I thought I should look at there website and albums for inspiration as you can see both Biffys album cover and website are very minimal with only a few small details with the website it has their latest album cover, the bands name as a banner and just there latest new. As you can see in comparison with mine next to it I have tried to go for the minimalistic nature of there website. I have also taken inspiration from there album cover, with both mine and theirs minimalistic with a simple picture edited and the albums name and the name of the band.
